Puerto Colon - a top Tenerife resort

Puerto Colón is one of the most popular resort locations in the south of Tenerife. It has just about everything tourists and holiday-makers are looking for. Puerto Colón has the sunshine, a sandy beach, bars, restaurants and its own marina.

Situated right next to the equally popular Playa de las Américas it is very easy to get to and find. You can simply take the coastal pathway that connects Puerto Colón with its neighbouring resort or you can reach it by road from San Eugenio, Torviscas and Fañabe. Regular bus services run through San Eugenio and it is just a short walk down to Puerto Colón.

In Puerto Colón they will find the golden sands of the wonderful Playa la Pinta beach which has safe bathing, sun-beds, and sun-shades and is suitable for disabled people too.

The nearby Puerto Colón marina offers charter fishing boats, yachts and very popular whale-watching trips on catamarans that go out into the bay looking for dolphins and pilot whales. As well as the excursions by boat from the marina it is also possible to go diving and Tenerife’s underwater world is a must for divers.

In addition to a great range of bars and restaurants that skirt the marina and beach areas there are shops including boutiques where you can buy fashionable clothes and beachwear ideal for your Tenerife holiday.

With plenty of tall palm trees growing in Puerto Colón and views looking back inland of Tenerife’s mountains this resort has that exotic visual appeal as well. Puerto Colón is the sort of holiday location you are likely to want to come back to again.
